I'd hate to see that happen since it's so darn cool. Someone really needs to
check to see if Perl 5.8 fixes this problem. If it does, then we might want
to consider automatically turning off the single instance feature for Perl
versions less than 5.8 (or whatever version we confirm doesn't have this
problem with return values). The individual developer knows his application
the best though and he should be able to turn it on or off as desired,
preferably both on a per-class basis and an application-wide basis.
