Can't upgrade from mod_perl 1.29 -> mod_perl 1.99

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade from mod_perl 1.29 to mod_perl
1.99 on Apache 2.0 (the OS is RHL9).

I have installed the mod_perl 1.99 binary RPM, but
when I check the version through perl (with the
command perl -Mmod_perl -e 'print
$mod_perl::VERSION'), I still get 1.29.

I tried upgrading via CPAN, I get the error "Cannot
install mod_perl/1.999.21 on top of mod_perl/1.29."

Is there some way I can uninstall mod_perl 1.29 so
that I can start using mod_perl 1.99?
