That doesn't look good. You had already installed a previous version of
mod-perl namely 1.9907(very ancient). I'd setup a clean new perl(5.8.6)
and try to install once more. You could leave your system perl as is and
install the new one e.g. /opt/perl-5.8.6/. Don't forget to install
mod_perl using "/opt/perl-5.8.6/bin/perl Makefile.PL". And because your
already at it you could also upgrade your apache we are now at 2.0.53.
