Dates in mod-perl

I need to retrieve a date from a database, then i have to calculate six months
after this
date, i don't have enough time to spend in this, so iŽd like to find a module
that can 
do this.
Sombody  knows any module doing this?
Maybe OODateTime or Calendar? I started to seek in CPAN, but there are many.
