    G'Day Doug,
    I know the problem. What is the condition of the connector between the clutch activating shaft and the clutch shaft in the bell housing (that squashed tube thing)? Are the pins though it worn? Are the holes that the pins go through in the shafts worn? Sadly, a little bit of wear in all of these makes a huge amount of angular play in the system.
    The cure (apart from fitting all new parts) is to remove the clutch fork from the activating shaft and move it one spline around the shaft to compensate. This cure is a pain as it entails removing the gearbox to get at it (or at least moving it far enough back in the chassis to get at the actuator) but the result is that the angles of all of the linkages are much better, clutch action is smoother and lighter.
