If the Cable is the same as the earlier one the inner goes into the end of
the metal stem of the choke knob. About 8mm further along there is a cross
drilling which intersects with the hole into which the choke cable is
fitted. The choke cable is simply flattened in that hole (like squashing a
straw between your fingers). This can be done with a hard steel pin from
either side (Masonry nails with tips ground off or similar) in a vice or
with a hammer and a firm surface to support the other end. Alternatively the
hole can be tapped and a little grub screw used.
Nick.

Subject: SER1 Mixture Control (Choke)
Hi all
I had to use the mixture control (choke cable for the first time on my
recently acquired 1956 86" SI, and have found that it is broken!
I have take the unit apart and cannot see how the cable is attached to
the pull-knob?
