I think we sorted this one out previously.  The numbers on the camshafts are
different.  This is probably because the exhaust valves on cylinders 2 and 3
moved closer to each other and away from cylinders 1 and 4 respectively when
they corrected the siamese bore problems in the early 1997 cc engines.

The external size of the block is the same as are the positions of cylinders
1 and 4.  The fact that the early and late engines use the same head
indicates the movement of the 2nd and 3rd cylinders wasn't sufficient to
cause problems with the head bolt positions.

At least that's what I have assumed.

I know that the crankshafts and bearings are different.
