Hi Martin,

I dare to disagree with the appropriate measure of caution of course, at
least concerning the nuts  (metal, not people...) I have met in all my
series landys. May be they are, as somebody mentioned, Whitworth but they
certainly have different sizes, being a bit larger than 13mm and 11 mm.
Bearing in mind that 7/16 corresponds roughly to 11.14 mm such a spanner
didn't fit either.

Very funny.... After all, the numbers on the sockets may be different, but
they are identical in socket size.

Hi Ulrico,

Not wanting to "throw a spanner in the works" (no pun 
intended!!) but some of the nuts you are having problems with 
may also be Whitworth sizes as well as BSF. However, you should 
be able to obtain sockets from the sites previously mentioned...
