<P>Yes Graeme, this is a solution in the right direction. I still have the "pampers" - the inner plastic wing for noise reduction from the Defender in my garage and will look for the possibility to make it into the driver´s side front wing. </P>
<P>Yes, the upper end from wing to bulkhead is also a perfect mudhole and so Your solution is very good. Maybe I fix only a metal panel with 2 or 3 screws from the inner top of the wing downwards in front of the brakelight switch. This panel should be only ca. 20cm wide, so that there is some space to the outer wing left. </P>
<P>Another alternative is a complete metal inner wing from the inner top of the wing from the middle wheel which follows the line of the backward wheel-cutout of the wing downwards until beneath the pedal mechanics or a little bit further to protect also the brake master cylinder and closes the open distance at the chassis until the beginning of the petrol tank. Main reason for the shield is to keep most of the mud away from the pedal mechanic and the springs.</P>

<P>Yes Diana, I know, South Africans have the same problem with the hot car onto dry high gras as you guys have in Ozzyland. But a correct protection shield will not allow gras to hang in the pedals mechanic. The gras will slip away from the pedals and has its next chance to hang at the tank or the rear leafsprings.</P></DIV></div><br clear=all><hr>Sicher ist sicher!
