Uli,
This should not be necessary,
The dynamo can be flashed with the engine stopped without any great
difficulty.
All that is necessary is to reverse the battery and then to connect the
field winding to the new battery live by brushing a wire across the dynamo
terminal a few times. (This will produce sparks).
If you don’t care about your regulator contacts it can be done by holding
the voltage regulator contact closed and briefly closing the cutout one.
Then just start the engine and check that all is well.
Nick.

Uli if you are changing from positive earth to negative earth it will need
two of you one to increase revs and while you have maximum revs the other
person to switch the battery terminals over quickly if you have a a
timepiece in your motor that is the only item that usually needs the wires
changing trust me on this i have one done my 1948 my Rover P4 110 and my
early series 2 plus numerous friends
