Hi Mark

The name Bemboka is the name of a town on the far south coast of New South
Wales near Bega. It may well be a from the indigenous as it dates from the
very earliest settlement of the area. The local language was from Dhurga
people.

My use of the name is because the 80" was on a farm outside the town and
with a name ending in "a" she has to be a girl.

Don't worry the 1950's are both boys - Gunner and Sir Laurence!
