Ian,
The Polarity will need to be switched to negative earth if the common
alternator types are to be fitted.
With a good new loom the connections should be straightforward.
The other issues are mechanical - which sort of fan belt does your vehicle
have? The older wider one or the later modern one (looks and is identical to
that fitted to most vehicles in the last 30 years)?

Subject: SER1 alternater conversion
After purchasing a wiring harness from Autosparks, I learned that I
need to convert to an alternator. Has anyone done this? Are there
other things I need to consider? voltage regulator, change in
polarity?
