The work on the chassis is progressing reasonably well. My family is =
pulling
me away for some vacations soon which will limit progress over the =
coming
weeks (best vacation for me would be a week in the garage on my =
own....). I
found a lot of mud inside the chassis so I cut openigs into the girders =
and
at the rear of the rear cross member to f=F6ush it out. Cutting the bent =
front
dumb iron off revealed quite some distortion of the girder. Luckily my
little hydraulic toy helped to make it all come straight again.

The third picture is from a donor vehicle I found in the Austrian alps =
and
went to fetch it yesterday. Lately it had been used as a snow plough and
shows some very heavy steel fabrication on the dumb irons. It is =
complete
but unfortunately the guy who sold it left it standing in the rain =
without
bonnet and water got into the engine through the carb and one missing =
plug.
I pumped it all out and drained it in oil through the carb and all the =
plug
holes. Hope this helps until I find time to take the head off.
In any case anything that is useful must be taken off before autumn as =
the
farmer lets it rest at its place only until beginning of winter. I think =
it
was agood find and the 150 Euro plus 30 Euro for the trailer rental seem =
a
good investment.
