Wired in = the same manner that it is currently. If you are swapping to an = alternator from a generator this will require different wiring dependant = on the make/model of alternator you use. The other problem you will have is the exhaust. On the 2.286 litre the = engine pipe goes straight down between the engine and chassis rail. You = will have to re-route the system to suit potentially using the series 2 = design/pipework. EIR P.S. Although I remember the movie, "the Gods must be crazy" I haven't = seen it in a while so can't tell you the make of the winch. You will = find that it is a PTO/mechanical model so is likely a Garwood brand. ----- Original Message -----=20 Mark I think Peter was suggesting that you unbolt the 1.997litre at the = engine mounts and fit the 2.286 litre engine and rubber mounts onto the = chassis brackets. DO NOT REMOVE (CUT OFF) THE CHASSIS BRACKETS FROM THE CHASSIS SIDE = RAILS. The electricals are easy, but depends on the model of the 2286cc engine = you have to put in. If you have an early starter motor you only have connect the main = battery lead that was connected to your 1997 cc engines starter. If you have a later 2286cc engine which had a key start - then a couple = of other mods are necessary. The simplest method is: Connect the main = starter cable to the large terminal on the starter motor as above. On = the back (engine bay side) of the starter button (switch) remove the = cable to the starter motor from the terminal it is currently on and = connect it to the other terminal with the main battery cable. On the = now vacant terminal of the starter switch run a new wire to the solenoid = terminal small terminal on the starter motor. Remove the electric fuel pump and throw it in your spares box with the = 1997 cc engine. Protect the end of the live fuel pump wire or remove the = wire completely. You can leave the original coil connected as usual and connect the wire = (removed from the distributor on the 1997 cc engine) to the distributor = on the new 2286 cc engine and connect the high tension lead to the = centre terminal of the distributor. (If your new engine had the 7 volt = resistor system you need some other mods. This can be involved so email = me direct.) Connect the oil pressure switch wire to the oil pressure switch. Connect the mixture warning light wire (the one from the switch on the = choke cable) to the mixture thermostat switch. You don't need to connect the water temp wire unless you have a series = 2a instrument cluster. It is all done.=20 EIR ------=_NextPart_000_02D6_01C562D3.8BAC8D10 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2800.1458" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2><FONT face=3DArial = size=3D2>Mark</FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I failed to mention before that you should be able to use your = original=20 generator/alternator on the replacement = 2.286 litre engine. =20 Wired in the same manner that it is currently.
