Matt Gibbs should only approach Tickfords if he really understands the expense
of becoming addicted to them !  One of the
most interesting aspects is that because of their manufacture, almost every one
is unique, in that so few were made but they do
incorporate all the changes in the basic series 1.

The two people who spring to mind as having done alot of study are Andrew
Bullas and of course Ken Wheelwright, who have
both been involved in serious restorations.  One good starting point is the
original parts book which contains the detailed
exploded parts lists which later parts books omitted.
