Hi Ulrico,

Had the same problem when we fitted new bushes to our refurbished =
chassis on our 80.

We used an expanding reamer to open out the apertures in the chassis to =
fit the new slit bushes.

We renewed all of the bushes back and front, all had to be reamed, this =
took a bit of time.

My left elbow still has the after effects of the reaming (ouch)

Cheers

Bob

  Hi List,

the 80" needs, going by the book, split front chassis bushes. I have =
them and they don't fit. In millimeters, they are 0.1 oversize. =
Imperially speaking this is 4 thou. This is quite an iterference and I =
think it is too much. Many tons will be needed to get these bushes in. =
Normal bushes, like used in later series are the same dimensions, so =
obviously the bores are a bit narrow. I wonder what spec the ones I =
removed were, but this is another question.

I think of using one piece bushes and turn them to a 0 to +0.02 =
interference.=20

Has anybody else experienced similar issues?

  Regards, Ulrico
