I have experience with both these subjects. In regards to the POR 15 I agree with everyone elses experience about application, UV resistance, etc. One more note about application though, the surface must be oil/grease free or it will peel like so many other paints and it is not cheap. I have the chassis of my SIII painted with it with mixed results even after steam and detergent cleaning. I also have the Crane-Allison electronic ignition installed in both my SIIA and SIII with years of trouble free operation even in 100F + temperatures and off road dust exposure, but carry a set of points and condensor for emergencies. I have heard mixed reviews about the Petronix in the past, but it is a simpler and more cost effective system.
