SER1 Dynamo Swap

The dynamo on my TT needs a rebuild; can I swap in the dynamo from a 
Series II 88 while that's being done?  I don't have the two side-by-side 
to compare.  The Series II dynamo is supposedly a Lucas C.39, don't know 
about the Series I.
