SER1 Re: NZ OXCAM REPLICA/FIRST OVERLAND

Thanks for all the recent enthusiasm on the list for the 'FO' film and
DVD — I've passed a lot of the comments on to BB, who will (I'm sure) be
boosted by the fervour.  I've also sent a picture of Mike Smith's
replica, which should make him smile!  (They WERE 86" vehicles, Mike,
because of their age — but I've double-checked the front wing rivet
position in a freeze-frame to make sure!)

I'd love to be able to promise everyone signed copies of the reprinted
book (Steve Rogers, Vancouver) but I'm afraid that's almost certainly a
non-starter.  Sir David Attenborough is currently on a nationwide tour
promoting HIS new book and TV series (Life in the Undergrowth — the
subject of next week's 'Radio Times' cover), and it's amazing that he's
agreed to break off to come to the RGS on the 25th.  As it is, I think
he'll be flying in from some remote and unexplored corner of England to
do it.

I've requested a 2-minute interview for the DVD, but don't hold up much
hope of getting it.  I'll still lug the camera down to London just in
case.

I shall now cross to the other side of the office and re-commence
editing.  This is going frustratingly slowly, I'm afraid.
