Hi Uli,
I don't think there is a bit of difference in the relay from S1 to S3 other 
than removing the fill hole on the old ones. There is no ratio in it. The 
input equals the output unless you swap to different length arms.
A few years ago I removed the relay from a 51-80 spare frame and gave it to 
a friend with a S3. it worked fine. This was a california frame and the 
relay popped right out. :-)
