My friend has a few brand new AC oil filler caps in black, however I =
believe that the silver caps are the ones for the S1 and the black ones =
are for the S2. They have different part numbers S1 =3D oil filler cap =
235406 + top rocker cover breather 230996; S2 =3D 2.28 litre oil filler =
cap 546440 (although the oil recommendation decal on the S2 cap has its =
own part number 272476).

On this engine the breather on the rocker cover has a set screw that =
locates it into the cover (You know the one everyone tries to take off =
to put the oil in) and it was this breather that had the remnants of the =
decal. The other one for the oil filler was also silver but didn't have =
any decal left (or never had one) and is a push on fit over the pipe =
coming off the side plate. Will have to try and see if this one is the =
same as those my friend has. =20

Would still like the top decal or complete breather. (Even though its =
only going to be temporary, that is dependant on how difficult it is to =
pull the finger out.)

Cheers
Diana

They are available. I have seen them in catalogues like Holdens Vintage =
and classic spares, but I have just checked theirs online. Try a similar =
company, you may have to buy a set... or contact =
http://www.llangollenmotormuseum.co.uk/
I have a few of the caps bought at shows like Wayne mentions. I only =
paid 1 pound each but they don't fit. I think they are ex army spares =
for Series two.

  Hi Everyone

Shock Horror - I am about to put a spread bore 2 litre engine into an =
early 80" and am at the point of getting all the little fiddly bits =
prepared to go onto the thing. (Don't worry it is just a temporary =
thing - I had this spread bore engine in the shed that was =
re-conditioned but not assembled, so we are putting it together to use =
in a vehicle while we recondition the 1.6 litre engine)

Does any one know if the decals on the breather on the top rocker =
cover is still available? Where? I could barely read the original it =
but it had the "AC" symbol at the top and instructions which included =
the word engine all in a circle.

Was there a decal on the oil filler/breather cap? If so, is that also =
available anywhere?

  Regards
  Diana
