That's the third test/second error. I was referring to:
	file error - test.tt2: not found

In that test, the template 'test.tt2' exists. The mkpath doesn't happen 
since the directory exists, but it fails to write the compiled template 
to disk because the directory isn't writable. I'd have expected the error:
	cache failed to write test.tt2: ...
