[Templates] Can't comparing strings (strings are treated as numbers)

How can I compare two strings in TT ?

the following tmpl doesn't show 'Good':

[% IF '2004-11-23' < '2004-11-26' %]
Good
[% END %]

how to use 'lt' ?
