I have not benchmarked the additional 200 queries to create
the CDBI objects, no. But I have extensively benchmarked the
underlying stuff, and I do have genuine performance issues
that probably can't be improved much on the software side.  I
am sure these issues exist. So, I don't really want to throw
200 more queries than necessary at an app that's already
running on the edge.

I do have different CDBI apps, on other machines, where things
are running just fine even with the extra queries, but for the
app I'm asking about now, I know I want to limit my trips back
to the database.
