Tom,
The output pressure from the pump is fixed. Provided the pump is the
right type (long suck/short blow and not short suck/long blow) the
failure is in the carb needle valve. This either has dirt in it after
the fiddling or is faulty - needle valve faulty, needle valve too high
in the float chamber, float leaking, float jamming etc.
Nick.

Hi all,
I've just installed a new (electrical) fuel pump in my S1 (1952 - 2L),
but
the engine seems to be getting too much fuel.
The plugs are all sooted and (when a couple of screw were a bit loose)
petrol bubbled out of the carb chamber.
So - I wonder if this new pump might be delivering too much pressure.
Has
anybody got any idea of how high the correct pressure should be ?
