Hi Peter,
I am not an expert on springs and what happens if you fit the wrong ones,
but I do know that in some cases it can affect the steering at higher
speeds. Someone else might know more about this and how near the 88"
springs are, but apart from the fact that the 80" springs are an identical
pair and the 88" are handed, the springs are not the same and I would check
that they were a suitable replacement before doing it.
The correct springs are easily available in the UK, but I couldn't say for
the USA.
Tom.
