I checked with one of my car buddies and located a canister and adapter
from a 2.25 liter. I discovered the following:

-The adapter uses the same bolt pattern and bolts right onto the alloy
adapter on the 2 liter.

-The canister is shorter but quite a but larger in diameter. If I use
it I will need to bend the dipstick tube bracket out of the way.
Approximately 1 inch.

-The adapter has a large boss on the top which was used for the oil
pressure sender and an adapter for a gauge. This falls in just the
right place to interfere with the throttle linkage. I think this can be
corrected by adjusting the vertical link down to the minimum length.
This will also mean I need to acquire a 3/8" BSP plug and washer to
block off the hole. A tapered pipe plug won't seal the oil in the
passage (Don't ask how I know.)

-If the spin-on adapter will fit the boss on the 2.25, I don't see why
it won't fit the 2 liter since they use the same bolt pattern. I would
need to see a picture to explain that.

Right now I am at the point where I could go any of three ways.
Decisions, decisions...

Thanks for all the feedback.

Bill
