Per your request, the Roverdrive is in and, in direct, makes no more gear
noise than a new helical driving against a worn-in idler might be expected
to make. If you don't have hand brake and overdrive shift lever issues,
and the input coupling fits easily into the overdrive output gear (check
this immediately upon receipt -- Rocky Mountain has some QA issues here)
I'd guess a typical installation time of perhaps two-three hours. I'll
take somewhat more than twice that, but the TT is driveable again while
I'm modding up the bits.

Re overdrive, the TT's tunnel is too tight to the gearbox to clear the
pivot bracket so I'm re-engineering the shift linkage. I'll probably
mount the pivot inside the floor box and lead a bent shift lever through a
suitable hole in the floor box face. For what it's worth, the Fairey
would have the same problem. Once the shifter is fitted we'll see if
overdrive works :-) The overdrive shift lever, if it could be fit where
intended, would be too long and foul the gearbox shift lever.

And I still have to modify and fit the hand brake assy.
