SER1 engine colour

i am in the process of putting my spare 2litre engine back together after having the block/head reworked. i have most of the parts but things like the waterpump, thermostat housing and various ancillaries are all different colours ....silver or black mainly. the block itself has traces of cream colour paint. any advice for this 1955 86" on correct colours.
