G'Day David,
Regarding colours for the engine, all aluminium parts were
unpainted. The ancilliaries were black as is the sump, side rocker cover
etc. (not sure about the oil filler cap, it may well have been silver
and it had a decal on it). the block and head were a greyish colour. The
correct colour paint is available from the Land Rover Series One Club
(LRSOC). Refer to their web site for further deatils. Not too certain
about the water pump, if it is a cast iron one it would have been the
same colour as the block originally.
