Hi Alan,
Thanks for pointing this out. If I read things correctly my infinite
resistance due to no ground on the sender branch sends all the current
through the internal ground and the needle pegs on 'F'. So if I ground
the sender post the needle should peg on 'E'. Of course, if I had a
sender unit to run that ground through, I could throw away the stick I
measure my petrol with :-)
