Just to update anyone with an interest in the matter. I contacted Malcolm
Douglas' Crocodile Farm company this morning to find that they already
distribute the videos on DVD. The info just hasn't got to the website yet.
On the question of NTSC they are contacting their production company to
enquire if their DVD are produced in PAL only or both PAL and NTSC versions.
I let them know there was some interest in the video on the eastern side of
the big pond. I will post the answer onto the Garage when I have it.

Dear Box Frog
Is this another English American thingo? Like
the Anglo-American orator Winston Churchill said "two countries divided by a
common language".
The problem with American TV is that it is NTSC
which has a different scan rate and has less horizontal lines on the
screen. In Australia we use the European PAL/SECAM standard with the
higher scan rate and more lines per screen so the effective resolution of
the picture is better. Many VCR (particularly brands like SONY) in
Australia will record and play in PAL but will also play an NTSC tape to a
PAL
TV and many TV's in Australia will likewise display what ever input format
they receive. I would assume that in the US there would be similar
machines. Check if your VCR has PAL/NTSC capability before purchasing
from Malcolm Douglas.
If your VCR can't do PAL-NTSC thingo and neither
can Malcolm Douglas, I have ordered the tape myself and can transfer it to
DVD-R
DVD-RW, SVCD, VCD or MPEG which will play on a computer with
VCD/SVCD/DVD. I've never tried to output a DVD-RW into NTSC format
but I'm sure I have that option in the set-up. I have already
faxed Malcolm a request asking if we could come to some arrangements which
should include sending Malcolm his royalties.
