Ah - I'd missed the point that the wooden body was mentioned on the despatch
documents, and so was probably original.
Thanks, Tom (Tollefson) for the news that there were other steel panelled
Series 1s - although you seem to suggest that they were locally bodied?
Anyone any thoughts as to why the very successful Birmabright panels - an
essential factor in the Land-Rover's initial design, of course, because they
WEREN'T steel - should apparently be occasionally made in steel? Would a
press designed to punch out Birmabright panels be capable of doing the same
with steel?
