    G'Day Tom,
    The bolted on bumper bar was used from vehicle number 06103841. The 
draw bar was also changed from the welded on type to the bolted on one 
at the same time.
    Ring pull free wheel lock gave way to the later push the yellow knob 
type at 06104015.
    These are 1950 model numbers but were most likely actually built in 
late '49.
    Another local Land Rover enthusiast actually has a 1948 model (86 
numbered), a 1949 model (866 numbered) and a 1950 model (0610 numbered), 
all of which were actually made in 1949.
