I read a few months ago on the LROI forum of a guy who had lots of
problems getting springs from the supplier you mention...........

Hi Folks,
next year I will need new leafsprings for the front axle of my 86" S1
1955 RHD petrol. 
I look here and there and I find at paddocks for SWB petrol:
 partnumber 241283 front RH 9leaf for 19,49GBP and  242863 front
LH9leaf also 19,49
Any experience with that strenght and measures for my S1? Do I need
other shackles?
