From memory the bolts on the series 3 are 9/16" UNF.

Before I knew better I tried to drift out the bolt only to find that =
they were threaded as well as fastened with a nut. This was with a 76 S3 =
but they have always been that way. I have some original rear shackles =
from my 86 S1 that are slightly shorter than the S3 set up if you are =
looking for originality. Otherwise the S3 fit but with a slight change =
to the hanger setting as they are longer. Also if you go with the S3 set =
up there is a thread change on the bolts and threaded hangers meaning =
that you go for new hangers bolts and nuts. They are probably UNF or =
metric but I cannot recall. Let me know if the old ones are of any use =
to you.

Subject: SER1 Spring shackles
Hi,
On looking in my parts catalogue, with regard to ordering some new =
spring shackles, I see that for a 88 they are listed as one side plain, =
and one side tapped (threaded). However, when I checked the current set =
up on my series one, both sides appear to be plain, with a bolt going =
straight through, and with a nut on the end.
Does anyone know what is the correct set up please?
Cheers
Mark
