Thanks for the interesting responses, Allan and Shane. Yes, we did go to
Tumut as well, I think. The Series 1 net has now come up with the coldest palce
in Oz, as well as the hottest !
Talking of traffic volumes, it wasn't far from Kiandra, either that day or
the next, when we drove down into a valley on a dirt road, and were about to
cross a bridge. There was this chap sprinting towards us along the riverbank
waving his arms wildly, so of course we stopped. He said he and his wife had
been stranded with their VW camper which wouldn't start, and we were the first
car to come along in the 3 days since they'd been stuck !! We contacted the
NRMA at the next town and hopefully they sorted out the VW, or maybe they're
still there !
On our last visit we noticed the drift towards the coast compared with our
previous trip, places like Oberon and Dalby seemed much quieter than they were
before, whereas the Gosford area was busier and more developed.
Regards to all,
Anthony
