Hi List, Yes, I'm finally back on. Actually I never really left. Although I got everyone's posts, I could not respond to the list due to a firewall problem. This is a long overdue THANK YOU to all List members, whose help, advice, and support I credit for completing the restoration of my 1953 80". In particular, a special thanks to Tom Bache, Jeremy Brooks, Wayne Perrin, and Wayne Smith who at times found the "unfindable" parts! I spent 3 years collecting parts and 1 year on the rebuild. It was completed in January 2004 but due to a busy work schedule, and any free time spent driving the LR, I never stopped to take pictures. Now I have and they are in the Garage, as Jeremy has kindly pointed out. As one of only 2 80"ers in Florida (at last count), it is a tremendous attention getter. Now all I need is a mountain, as it's pretty boring here in flat South Florida. The only off-roading to be done is on the beach which I won't do because of the salt, or the Everglades which is nice but its all a soft muck that swallows the tires. Before you know it the LR is floating on the chassis and going nowhere. No, I wont post that picture! I look forward to more great information and stories from everyone and the opportunity to assist others in keeping their LR's up and running. A very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Prosperous New Year to all, Ben Gilbert 1953 80" Miami PS: Diana, since the "pink" came from a faded red, it was impossible to match so I had lower my expectations and resort to the original color!
