The starting price for an Item on ebay reflects what you pay to list the=20
Item. You also pay for a reserve too. I have tried selling stuff both ways.=
=20
Starting at the very lowest I'll accept for an item and listing from 99p=20
with a reserve. There is no doubt that the lower starting price attracts=20
the bidders But I can't understand why people are so secretive about their=
=20
Reserves. I used to tell people what it was because everyone asks anyway.=20
After all your only making sure you get what you want for your item.

However Lately I have discovered that starting at 99p with no reserve is=20
the best. Lets face it everything usually reaches it's marketable value on=
=20
Ebay. The only losers are the sellers who list stuff with the wrong title=20
or in the wrong category this is when stuff is cheap. Example Original=20
Land-Rover Series 1, The Restorer's Guide to All Civil and Military=20
Models,1948-58 - James Taylor. Was listed in books, nothing to do with Land=
=20
Rovers with the title "Landrover restoration book" (note Landrover all=20
one word) My friend snapped it up for =A311.00

I put a spare copy I had onto the US Ebay with a 99c start in two=20
categories with the correct title and ISBN number and I got $168.00 for it.=
=20
Pays for a bit more fuel to be able to use her every day.
