Good evening Graham
The later series 2a particularly the 6 cylinder petrol did have a centre button and when
steering columns got swapped so did the horn buttons.
I have even seen one used on a series 1 with the wires down the static tube.
Unfortunately the wheelcentre/button rotates with the steering wheel and because of
the fatigue with the constant twisting the wires can short out and need to be replaced
frequently.
