<P>South Africa is very near. Months ago I had talking to the list the fil of Prof.Grzimek with a lot of Series vehicles in it. The filmtitle is "Serengeti darf nicht sterben" and has got an Oscar. You can buy it on DVD - have a look at amazon.de for 17,99Eur. Somewhere I have a copy on VHS, but not complete, but with all the series cars and the zebra.</P>

<DIV></DIV>>Hi All - and Happy Easter,
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>I have just been reading an interesting article in Land Rover Enthusiast
<DIV></DIV>>magazine about a Professor Bernhard Grzimek who was the director of
<DIV></DIV>>Frankfurt Zoo, but who also spent many years trying to save wildlife in
<DIV></DIV>>Africa. He spent most of his time in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.
<DIV></DIV>>While working here, he and is son Michael used a 107 station wagon as their
<DIV></DIV>>transport while they studied animal migration patterns. The 107 was painted
<DIV></DIV>>with black and white stripes in a 'Zebra' style and the article was trying
<DIV></DIV>>to prove that this was possibly the first vehicle to carry this paintwork.
<DIV></DIV>>(it's a few years before the childrens TV series 'Daktari'). Sadly Michael
<DIV></DIV>>was killed in a plane crash in 1959 and the vehicle was sold, but James
<DIV></DIV>>Taylor is interesed to find out if this was the first vehicle to carry such
<DIV></DIV>>a paint scheme, and I wonder if the vehicle still survives - it should not
<DIV></DIV>>have rusted away too much I guess.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Over to you guys...
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>If you can help, you can contact James Taylor at
<DIV></DIV>>editorial@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Cheers
