Two issues - mix and match of the spring parts is fine if the leaves are not
worn enough to have significant "steps" where the next leaf in the stack
rubs but if there are significant steps the spring should be replaced if
possible. Also for the front springs there are a couple of types and you
need to be careful that all your parts "match"
I had my front springs reset some time ago with slightly more camber than is
correct. The vehicle rides much better in consequence - There is more front
spring travel before the bump stop is reached.
To reset a spring the leaves are heated to a sufficiently high temp to
soften the steel, bent, re-hardened and then tempered. I suggest that you
leave any finishing process until after this has been done!
