Hello Mark
Lightweight axles are identical in width to their civilian counterparts. The
drive flanges and half shafts are different (and more expensive)than the
civvie version but the wheel track remains the same as ser 2 and 3 vehicles.
Only the body of the Lightweight was narrowed by a total of 4.5" to meet
militaty specifications.

Subject: SER1 Lightweight Axles

Hi All,

I have been offered some Lightweight Axles, and was toying with the
idea of using them in my rebuild. I think the Lightweight has a slightly
narrower track than normal Series 2 and 3's, so presume they would look
OK on a Series One - or am I completely off the mark! Any thoughts
please.......( I know the purists won't like it)

Cheers
