Ulrico,
Gosh, I've been wondering that for years - I have a pair in the garage
waiting to go on for the last 5 years but have been putting the job off
- now it's about the last major job left.
I've been looking at it and I think that the original intention was to
weld it on the outside (for strength) however this will look ugly so
I'm tempted to cut it away and just butt weld the join in the corner an
then tidy up the weld if needed.
I don't see that inserting inside it is much better than not having it
since the bit inside the cross member can not be then welded to
anything so you are really only relying on the weld on the outside
anyway/
I'm sure we would all love to know what you decide to do - likewise
when I pluck up the courage to do it I'll let the list know how I get
on.
In general has anyone got any tips on how to go about replacing the
front dumb irons (assuming the engine and gearbox etc are in place?

We are now implementing a new ticketing system to improve response time
and
reduce the chances of a request being missed. This does mean a change of
email address, but will help us to help you more efficiently. In future
we
ask that new job requests be sent to nsmsjobs@xxxx.xx.xx.xx and general
queries/discussions to nsms@xxxx.xx.xx.xx.
Thanks for your cooperation - the NSMS Team.
