Hi all,

Thanks for the interesting answers and comments on this one. The
question is really hypothetical since my 2A is already taxed as a
Historic Vehicle now and is free of V.E.D. and unfortunately is also a 2
1/4 petrol - so could not run on red (lower taxed) diesel. I doubt I
could get away with fitting my recently acquired agricultural drawbar
onto my Series One, 2 litre diesel and running that on red
diesel......as a farm vehicle!

Talking of these drawbars - the ones that bolt under the rear
crossmember and have about 8 holes in them for use with farm implements,
I saw Ken Wheelright out last weekend in his latest Tickford Station
Wagon refurbishment, just finished and out on its first run. It was
another fantastic restoration, with great attention to detail, but was
also fitted with one of these agricultural drawbars. Its not the sort of
vehicle you would expect to see working in a field, but I suppose
anything is possible with a Land Rover - mind you, I doubt the modern
day equivalent, the Range Rover would ever be seen ploughing a field!

Cheers
