SER1 FW: voltage regulator troubles

the red charge light is coming on even at high revs, but not all the time. 
when it is chargeing the amp. meter is bouncing. I have replaced the battery 
and checked the genorator out Has anyone had any similar problems and can 
give advice on how to trace the problem?
