Alex

After the second post I am able to view the directory and open the =
files.

The Dash:

The indicator lamps are correct for a 1953 model except the bezels =
should be black and the choke (mixture control) warning lamp (top left) =
should be amber and the lens is reversed and the charge warning lamp =
(bottom left) should be red.

The VDO fuel gauge is incorrect - it should be British Jaeger.

The Amp gauge is incorrect - it should be Lucas 0 - 30 Amps (however if =
you have an alternator you may need the 0-60 amp unit)

The ignition/?starter key switch (bottom far left) is incorrect and an =
addition - it is in the position for the inspection lamp sockets, which =
are missing.

The toggle switch (top far left) is incorrect - it should be a push pull =
switch with a Bakelite knob. =20

The PL6 headlamp and ignition key switch is original.

The speedo is original

 The chassis:

For ease of restoration I would strip the chassis and have it sand =
blasted (take care with the chassis number). You can clear out the grit =
with an air hose and or vacuuming.=20

At the front of your chassis there seems to be an angle iron welded =
between the dumb irons. This is not original. I would take off the end =
plates from the dumb irons and do a visual inspection and de-scaling of =
the inside of the box section then replace the end plates.

Galvanising a chassis after repair will make it last longer but is not =
original. If you don't galvanise make sure you rust treat the inside =
even if you only fish-oil the inside regularly.
Cheers
Diana

Dialup users this is a large file so it may take a while.

Thanks
