    G'Day Alyn,
    Its fairly normal for the pump to click rapid fire when the ignition 
is first turned on if the vehicle has been left for a time (overnight or 
less in hot weather). There are a number of reasons, evaporation from 
the hot carb after you have stopped, some fuel draining back in the 
system due to imperfect non return valves in the pump etc. When running, 
once every 3 - 5 seconds sounds about normal.
