Google Earth is still very unreliable - several weeks ago I could see my
Rangie parked outside my house. Today I can only sort of see my house but
can't find my street. The cross-street 1 house away up the hill now has a
step in it on the other side of my street where it's southern end of it is
now 1 house down the hill. I'll have to go and have a look if the street
has moved. 33-56-01.20S 151-08-23.43E

The town of Nowra is wrongly named as "Shoalhaven", the Naval Air Station,
HMAS Albatross is wrongly called Nowra Airport. (34-56-55.09S 150-32-11.88E)
You still can's see all of our farm clearly but if you could my 1950 would
be parked at 34-53-16.35S 150-38-03.28E

Hi Diana,

I did not know that by paying a fee it is possible to have it all in fine
resolution. That would be great! Have you got any information about how much
and how to set it up?

Google Earth is a great toy and brings a lot of fun discovering Earth.

We could send links of our locations to the list, so the world each of us
lives in becomes a bit more tangible

Mit freundlichen Grüssen/Best regards

Not that Google Earth was ever standard equipment on any Series 1 that I
ever owned (even a series 1 Disco if I owned one) however what is annoying
is that it displays relatively old images, 6 - 12 behind. I know this
because the property next to ours has recently been converted into a golf
course (the push for progress and urban/regional sprawl) the thing has been
open since New Years Day last but Google Earth still shows it under
construction.

The other annoying thing is that they only show parts in high resolution
unless you pay the fee. This means that the major towns and cities get
shown Hi Res. but not rural areas. So on Google Earth we can clearly see
the golf course in Hi Res. and even our north-western pastures but just
about our south-western side boundary with the golf course and 100m from the
house our property turns into fuzz.

Try seeing any details on some of the Pacific islands like the Solomon's!

Cheers
Diana
