Fortunately I know the ad — I say 'fortunately' because the link
produced a 'File Not Found' when I tried it.

Yes, it is a remarkable achievement, both technically and televisually.
I did read in a TV trade magazine, though, that it wasn't one complete
take from end to end, but there is a very skilful edit in the middle
(somewhere around the exhaust box/muffler?).  It wasn't because of
problems in getting it to 'work' physically, but because of a camera
move.  I hope I've remembered that right.

However, it doesn't detract from an excellent piece of creative work.
Incidentally, we didn't always see the whole 2 minutes (or whatever) in
the UK — there were two shorter edits beginning and ending around that
mid point.  Now we have Honda's 'Hate Something, Change Something'
campaign for their diesel engines, which is a similar triumph of
creativity, this time with polished and witty graphics.

To pick up Ben's suggestion that someone does something similar when
undertaking a Series 1 restoration, I'm happy to offer TV camera
facilities.  I just need 5000UKP per day, plus travel expenses to/from
Yorkshire!

Can we leave it until I've finished 'First Overland' though?  Big night
on Friday at the Royal Geographic Society.  Just had an email from BB to
say that my DVD for the presentation (that the team members will comment
on) has been tested in the RGS player, and works OK — big relief!  Sir
David Attenborough has also agreed to a very brief interview (despite
being in the middle of a major UK promo tour for his new book/TV
series).  Very exciting... but today I must complete enough editing to
be able to show a rough demo of what my DVD will look like when it
eventually gets finished.  Looks like the New Year now, I'm afraid —
sorry guys.
